The success of Woodstock’s Transaction Safe Place led to multiple locations providing availability for the same type of program. Nationally, locations are popping up as law enforcement agencies take part in similar programs. Throughout Cherokee County, the following locations are now identified as Transaction Safe Place locations:

Woodstock’s Transaction Safe Place was announced in February, and on p. 16 of the April issue of the Around Woodstock Magazine additional locations were shared by Woodstock’s Police Chief Calvin W. Moss.
If you are planning on meeting in a public place for a Craigslist transaction make sure you follow basic safety guidelines as outlined by Chief Moss:
- Insisting on a public meeting place
- Taking extra precautions when purchasing or selling expensive items
- Informing friends and family members of your plans and taking someone with you if at all possible.
- Keeping your cell phone with you at all times
- Listen to your gut instincts.
Make sure that if you are planning any Craigslist transactions you follow the above guidelines and keep safety in mind.
