Halloween is just around the corner, and if you take a drive down Main Street, you may be under the impression that Woodstock has been overtaken by a mass invasion of scarecrows. No need to worry however, these scarecrows are part of the annual Scarecrow Parade sponsored by Main Street Woodstock and benefiting the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village. Woodstock is one of many cities all over the country to make a scarecrow parade, the highlight of its annual Halloween festivities.
The scarecrows, built by local businesses and residents, will be on display through the end of October, and the winner will be determined by votes submitted by the general public. You can vote for your favorite of the 25 entries at the Woodstock Visitors Center located in Historic Dean’s Store at 8588 Main Street in Woodstock. Votes are one dollar each with all proceeds benefiting the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village.
