The rainy weather did not seem to keep the crowds away from the 31st annual Riverfest that took place the last weekend in September. The parking lots at Boling Park, Cherokee High School, and the old Progressive Skate Park off of Marietta Highway were full as people parked, then walked, and then were shuttled on to the entrance to Riverfest. With a suggested donation of $5 per adult attendant, the Service League of Cherokee County counts this event as the largest fundraising event for the year. Proceeds raised help to fund the needs of children in the Cherokee County community through food, clothing, medical and dental care, eyeglass purchases, and scholarships.
With a juried arts and crafts section, a children’s area full of activities, food vendors, and an entertainment stage, there was something for everyone. Festive fall decorations adorned booths and scarecrows were exhibited throughout the festival. Take a look through our photographic journey of the 2015 Riverfest.
If you missed Riverfest this year, make sure you plan ahead for the 2016 Riverfest which is sure to be even bigger and better! Don’t forget to check out these other great events sponsored by the Service League of Cherokee County.
