Each year in January, Pantone releases its Color of the Year. This year, the Color of the Year is the combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity. Will you be incorporating these colors in your home or wardrobe?
Let’s backtrack a second-
What is the Color of the Year?
It’s a color that Pantone perceives is an expression of the mood and attitude of our current culture – a color snapshot, if you will. This is the first year that two colors have been named as the Color of the Year. The persuasive and gentle tone of Rose Quartz conveys a sense of compassion and composure, while Serenity is airy, almost weightless like the sky, bringing feelings of relaxation.
Today’s consumers are seeking mindfulness and well-being as a solution to stress. By filling their palette with welcoming colors that are psychologically reassuring and secure, consumers are finding a sense of peace.
How can you incorporate this peaceful color combination into your life?
For the playful ladies, you can add a bit to your hair. Now we’re not telling you to do a Rose Quartz-Serenity ombré, but as Venéssa Lanier of Salon Vénessa suggested on page 26, hair extensions can be a temporary way to try something fun and different. Flowers are an easy, temporary way to brighten up and incorporate the colors into your home. Do you know a great landscaper who could bring these colors into your landscaping? Get their creative juices flowing and bring a sense of color and calm to your yard. Or, if you’re one who loves to spice up the interior of your house, there’s always refinishing furniture or even a whole room
