Residents of Woodstock will soon have the opportunity to explore and learn about Woodstock in a unique way. Kicking off on October 25 and continuing through November1, the Discover Woodstock Scavenger Hunt is an interactive journey through 100 different venues in Woodstock. Participants will have one week to complete as many of the 100 “challenges” as they choose, or try and complete them all!
The challenges will vary from simple fun tasks like making a funny face in a picture or identifying a historic location in Woodstock.
Those who choose to take the challenge will have the opportunity to learn new things, explore exciting places, visit familiar and new areas, have a chance to compete against others, and win prizes. Each challenge is assigned a certain point value based the degree of difficulty. Planning and selection of challenges is important as it is possible that no one will complete all 100 challenges. The winner will be determined not by who completed the most challenges but who has accumulated the most points from the various challenges.
One lucky winner will receive $100 in Downtown Dollars to spend at his or her favorite downtown Woodstock business; other prizes will be awarded also. The event is free, and the scavenger hunt activity list will be posted at the What’s Up Woodstock website at 9 a.m. on Friday October 25.
You can also pick up a printed list at the Woodstock Visitors center located at Dean’s Store , 8588 Main Street, starting at 10 a.m. on Friday October 25. You will then have one week to accumulate as many points as possible with submissions being accepted November 1 at Friday Night Live from 6-9 p.m.
The scavenger hunt is a great way to explore Woodstock and visit restaurants, shops, parks, and historic places in the area.
