Here\u2019s a recap of his presentation.<\/p>\n<p>Community development production in 2016<br \/>\n\u2022 $200 million in commercial and residential projects.<br \/>\n\u2022 4,407 total permits issued.<br \/>\n\u2022 332 single-family permits issued.<br \/>\n\u2022 16 new commercial projects started.<br \/>\n\u2022 272,701 square feet of new commercial space.<br \/>\n\u2022 10,135 inspections performed.<br \/>\n\u2022 309 new businesses licensed.<br \/>\n\u2022 26 public hearing cases processed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COMMERCIAL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Commercial projects<br \/>\n\u2022 Carriage Kia, completed.<br \/>\n\u2022 Holiday Inn Express on Woodstock Parkway, 81 rooms.<br \/>\n\u2022 Fairfield Inn &#038; Suites on Parkway 575 across from the Hampton Inn, 85 rooms.<br \/>\n\u2022 Space Shop Self Storage on Highway 92.<\/p>\n<p>Most asked about<br \/>\n1. Ridgewalk Holdings\/Costco. The project, which has gone through the plan review, will include 330,000 square feet of retail and 35,000 square feet of office and residential components. Anticipated opening date for Costco is mid-2018 \u2014 Costco\u2019s goal is Memorial Day weekend.<br \/>\n2. Krispy Kreme at 9420 Highway 92, next to Ruby Tuesday, should open in late 2017 or early 2018. The driveways will connect, so guests can enter and exit at the light.<\/p>\n<p>2016 business licenses<br \/>\n332 new businesses out of the 2,300-2,600 licenses granted; 60 percent of those are home-based businesses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESIDENTIAL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Single-family home permits<br \/>\nOver the past six years, the highest was 386 permits in 2015, followed by 332 in 2016. So far this year, 148 permits have been given.<br \/>\nSince the first quarter of 2011, 1,794 single-family residential units have been built. Currently, 991 single-family residential lots are zoned, ready and available. In addition, 18 subdivisions were started, with more on the way.<\/p>\n<p>2017 residential projects to date<br \/>\n\u2022 South on Main, 575 units. The Noonday Creek trail will connect to Main Street through this neighborhood.<br \/>\n\u2022 Inwood, 74 units.<br \/>\n\u2022 Woodstock City Homes, 19.<br \/>\n\u2022 Highland Park, 23 units.<br \/>\n\u2022 28 &#038; Mill, 28 units. Developments that began in 2017<br \/>\n\u2022 Haddonstone, a Lennar development across from the Ford dealership on Woodstock Parkway, 150 units.<br \/>\n\u2022 Meritage Homes community on Gunnin\/Neese roads, 128 units.<br \/>\n\u2022 Towne West on Putnam Ford Road at Eagle Drive.<br \/>\n\u2022 Rusk Street Homes, seven units.<br \/>\n\u2022 Windsong at Linton, 12 units.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FUTURE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2018 comprehensive plan<br \/>\nThe project manager is Katie O\u2019Connor, Woodstock\u2019s senior city planner. To develop this plan, a series of community meetings will be held at the Chambers at City Center on the following dates:<br \/>\n\u2022 6-8 p.m. Oct. 19<br \/>\n\u2022 6-8 p.m. Feb. 15, 2018<br \/>\n\u2022 6-8 p.m. April 12, 2018<\/p>\n<p>Greenprints Trail update<br \/>\nThe city has put in a request for funding to connect the Greenprints Trail to Cobb County, and will find out later this year if it\u2019s been approved. The first leg will connect to Noonday Creek on Shallowford Road, and Cobb County will pick up the portion that connects to the Bells Ferry Trailhead.
