The hot Georgia Summer days will be gone shortly which most of you are probably very excited about! Fall is going to be beautiful this year, and the cooler days much needed relief from all of the warm weather. Fall is a great time to get out with your family and spend as much time as you can outdoors. Not only is it a great way to spend time together, but it’s an opportunity to stay fit, active, and healthy as a family.
The Greenprints Alliance
Established in 2007, the Greenprints Alliance has been working to create safe trails for the community of Woodstock, GA. All of the trails are a great place to either enjoy the outdoors, or use as an environment for fitness and physical training. The trails are a great place for you and your family to get outside this Fall. Whether you want to go for an active run, or a leisurely stroll – there are trails for everyone’s needs.
The Little River Pedestrian Bridge allows people to access the north side of Little River. Explore the historical ruins of the rope mill or stroll leisurely next to the river to find the picturesque train trestle. Woodstock Fitness Park is one of the newest installments in the Greenprints Alliance. The quarter mile paved trail is located in the front of the Woodstock Elementary. Students and faculty will have the trail available during school hours, and it will be open to the public outside of school hours.
These are just two of the great spaces created by the Greenprints Alliance. For a full map of all of the great trails and walkways in and around Woodstock, GA, see the two page spread in the September issue of Around Woodstock – find it at a local retailer near you!
