School starts for Cherokee County School District students on August 3, 2015. With the final countdown upon us, there are a few important resources for parents to be aware of with the beginning of the schoolyear.
Transportation
Visit the VersaTrans eLink for detailed information regarding the transportation provided for your child. Bus route information may be accessed by inputing a child’s address and grade level.
Parent Portal
Review and confirm your child’s schedule by accessing the Aspen parent portal. This online tool allows parents to view schedules, grades, and attendance records. Parameters may be set for which email notifications are sent to parents. For example, parents may opt to have an email sent to them anytime that a grade below 70% is entered into the system for their child.
District Communication
With a district anticipating the enrollment of over 41,000 students for the 2015-2016 schoolyear, it may seem challenging to keep communication streamlined. However, it is important to note that updates are posted on the Cherokee County School District homepage on a regular basis. Parents may also find useful information on the district Facebook page and through subscribing to individual teacher remind text alert accounts.
