Upcoming event for all the runners in Cherokee County: the Woodstock Freedom Run on July 4th is quickly approaching! This year’s event will host a 5K, a one-mile run and a kid’s run all in downtown Woodstock. Once the running is done, stay downtown to enjoy the parades, arts and crafts and other Independence Day entertainment.
About the Woodstock Freedom Run 
The race begins on Main Street and Arnold Mill Road, heading down Main Street toward Rope Mill Road. Racers will turn around at Rope Mill and run to Highway 92, turn around there and end behind the red train car in downtown Woodstock.
Racers will need to head to the parking lot of the Ace Hardware the morning of the race to pick up their numbers and t-shirts. The 5K will start at 7:30a.m. and the one-mile and Tot Trot events will start at approximately 8:30a.m. Late registration and early packet pickup will be at Ipp’s Italian Restaurant, located at 8496 Main Street on Thursday, July 3rd from 4-7p.m. Online registration closes at 9:00p.m. on Tuesday, July 1st.
Running fees are as follows:
5K/One-Mile – $25 by 6/30/14; $30 after 6/30 and $8 early; $10 after for the kids’ Tot Trot.
