One of the sure signs of fall is Friday night football! The high school season started in August in North Georgia. The Woodstock Wolverines, Sequoyah Chiefs, and River Ridge Knights are all anticipating victorious seasons!
Woodstock Wolverines
Woodstock’s inaugural game of the season was against neighboring Cherokee County School District’s River Ridge Knights. Woodstock had a great start to the season with a 40 to 21 win! Time will only tell how the remainder of the season will play out.
River Ridge Knights
The River Ridge Knights football program continues to grow! Since it’s inception in 2009, the program has made one trip to the playoffs. Only time will tell what will come of the hard work and effort put forth through the summer practices.
Sequoyah Chiefs
This long established football program is not a stranger to the state playoffs. With 10 visits to the playoffs over the last fifteen seasons, and 3 in a row from 2012, 2013, and 2014 the program is anticipating success in this 2015 season. The season warmed up with a scrimmage game against Woodstock, and the home opener will take place on Friday, August 28 against the fellow CCSD’s Etowah Eagles.
