The Park at City Center in Woodstock is known as a gathering place. Many fun and festive events such as the Brown Bag Concert Series, Kidsfest, and the Christmas Jubilee take place in this space. However, the Woodstock War Memorial is a reminder that somber moments are also observed in the Park at City Center.
This Thursday is September 11th. This date is significant for many and marks the thirteenth anniversary what many individuals refer to simply as 9/11. On this Sept. 11th in 2014, the Woodstock Jaycees and the City of Woodstock would like to cordially invite you to Woodstock’s 9/11 Day of Remembrance.
The event will take place at 7:00pm on the 11th in the Park at City Center. Time for remembering and reflecting on the lives that were lost thirteen years earlier will be granted. Those that are continuing to fight for freedom as servicemen and women, firefighters, and law enforcement officials will be honored.
A limited number of 9/11 lapel pins will be given away. Join the City of Woodstock and the Woodstock Jaycees for this commemoration as this day marks a day in which the nation was changed.
