The Atlanta Regional Commission has gathered quite of bit of data regarding the population of those 55 and older in Cherokee County. It seems that this specific segment of the population is growing. In fact, the projected growth of the 55+ population in Cherokee County is expected to increase by 247% from 2005 to 2030.
With the growing segment of the population represented within this demographic category, it is important that awareness of senior related issues and concerns be made known. As a result, the Cherokee Triad – S.A.L.T. sponsors numerous events and provides multiple resources to help senior citizens in Cherokee County with a variety of concerns.

This national organization is present in Cherokee County with the Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (S.A.L.T.) Council.
Over the years, events have included seminars, workshops, expos, and health fairs. The upcoming Cherokee S.A.L.T.
