The 9th annual Wing and Rock Festival will be taking place on Saturday May 31 and Sunday June 1 at the Park at City Center in Downtown Woodstock. It is a family friendly food & music event that has something for everyone. This year’s event will be sponsored by Rock 100.5 and Main Street Woodstock. AroundAbout Local Media, parent company of Around Woodstock, TowneLaker and Sixes Living is proud to be a Media Sponsor.
This FREE event is the third largest wing fest in the country featuring some of Atlanta’s best tasting chicken wings from local restaurants & bars plus great live music on two stages featuring more than eight bands. For the kids there will be jumpies, rides, face painting & more along with local teen bands on the gazebo stage. For the adults there will be cold beverages to wash down those tasty wings and specialty foods plus a large art and crafts area for those looking for some unique hand crafted items from the area.
Area wing vendors will compete in several competitions throughout the weekend to determine who has the best tasting buffalo sauce and non-buffalo sauce plus the People’s Choice Award. The People’s Choice Award is where the attendees get to vote for their favorite wing at the festival. Chicken wings & other food items are available for purchase at each participating food vendor.
Don’t miss the wing-eating contest to see who can eat the most wings in 2 minutes. This is a free contest for the attendees to participate in. Be one of the first 12 people to sign up before 3:00 p.m. on Saturday May 31st at the Rock 100 booth and you can go up against last year’s Wing Eating Champion. If you are one of the top three finishers, you will be awarded a trophy or medal, festival t-shirt, gift certificates and bragging rights for the rest of the year!
Proceeds from the event will benefit You Lucky Dog Rescue and Embraced Atlanta an organization that provides orthopedic and prosthetic equipment for the less fortunate.
So bring your lawn chairs, blankets or rent a table in our reserved area and make a day of it. For more information visit www.wingandrockfest.com
